Pinterest Storyboard Party: 2017 Edition

Elisabeth Grace Foley is hosting a second edition of her Pinterest Storyboard Party and I am more than a little bit excited to show off some of my storyboards! The party's intention is to let writers showcase their Pinterest storyboards for finished works, works-in-progress, and stories still being mulled over.

This western story is a rehashing of my first completed novel. The story has been stripped back to its bare bones and refocused to what would have been backstory in the original first draft. I am very excited about its prospects!

This story set in Nazi occupied Holland is still in the researching and plotting stage, but I already have a clear idea of the characters and the atmosphere. I just need to get my hands on some more detailed information about Holland and everyday life in Holland during WWII and the post-war period. Anyone have suggestions?

Spanning from the turn of the century to the 1920s, this is another story that is currently undergoing plotting and research. I am excited with the idea of this one, but I am a little afraid I might be biting off more than I can chew.

What are some of your favorite Pinterest storyboards? And do visit Elisabeth's post and join in the writerly fun!

P.S. I promise, promise, promise that the film half of my 2016 In Review post is coming. I promise.

  1. Ooo, some boards I've never seen before! I love the atmosphere you've created with the "Safe House" one. I don't really know much about that setting myself, but I did recently read a review of a memoir by an English airman hidden in occupied Holland that sounded really good.

The setting of the early-20th-century one really appeals to me too—I'd be very interested in reading any of these stories! Thanks so much for sharing them.

    1. Pinterest can be a life saver and a time sucker for me all at once. I love how I can flesh out stories and create their atmosphere with the pictures though.

      Thank you!

  3. Your western intrigues me, especially with Hugh Jackman and Armie Hammer involved :-D

For stuff about daily life in Holland during WWII, have you read "The Hiding Place" by Corrie ten Boom?

    1. Thank you for stopping by! Armie Hammer is the "face" of my hero character. :)

I have read The Hiding Place , but it has been several years, so I should probably give it a reread. Thank you for the suggestion.

    2. Armie keeps cropping up in my books too. He works so nicely in a western! I think I'm on project #3 to involve "casting" him as a character :-)

  4. Ah! I love the imagery in the western. And I admire that you're reworking it! I did that once for a novella and I remember how tedious that was, and how momentous the decision seemed, so I'm glad that you're able to find excitement in it! :)

Thanks for sharing the boards; I had fun exploring them!

    1. Thank you! I think I'm excited for it because the story is really taking on a completely new feel and driving action compared to the original. It almost feels like writing a new story instead of rewriting an old one.
